Radio InvenT is the actual richmedia implementation for enhanced and enriched audio content. The contents shown are demonstration of what can be achieved with the concepts covered by the MIXWEB project. It includes many things: Enterprise communication, music karaoke, interactive audio and video books, artistic design, web conferencing, etc. The concept is not limitative and can be applied to any content.
You can see for example what has been done on the Secteur 51 and T-One radio projects which are at the base regular radio "audio only" programs.
One of the aim of this project is to provide richmedia compositing and production to traditional radio to offer a new source of revenue by implementing e-commerce features to their programs.
Today, this can work mainly on the wireless Internet (WiFi, WiMAX), but the new DMB and DVB-H technologies will support this concept in a very near future.
LG, Samsung, Nokia, Sony are proposing new sets (radios, phones) that can receive this type of richmedia content. BT, NTL, VirginRadio have already tested this kind of broadcasting in the UK back in 2004.
